Poems

Simple Motivation

"Don't take your happiness for granted.

Don't let a good day die off in the burning sunset.

Don't let it fade out the light without you remembering what it was like in the darkness.

Know it. Know how it makes you feel. Know it while it's with you.

It's not meant to be yours forever and neither is the pain it leaves behind when it's gone.

Know it. Know your happiness. Know your laughter. Know your smile.

Know all these things, and know how to make them stay.

The longer they stay, the easier it will be to let them go."

R. M. Drake (Poem #685)

"Taken"

"Taken"

He took her dignity and broke it

He took her confidence in stole it

He took all she had

He took her emotions and made her mad

He took her love from the start

He took her hand and broke her heart

He took her and changed her Ways

He took her patients she knew for days

He took her body and teared it through

He took her smile to say I love you

He took her and made her cry

He Took her pity so she thinks she should die

He took her here up and down

He took her mind spinning all around

He took all that was left of her soul

He took away her dreams and her goals

He took forever what she could've been

He took all her reasons not to sin

You took it all and I have to stop on this note

He took it all in

Murder was what I wrote

Poetry, Poems, And Poets: Important Note

All those three words have in common; words & speech.

You could speak the words or write it out. Best believe you're going to get heard.

Like I said so many times, June is the month of Arts!

Arts such as poems, spoken word, painting & photography.

June is the beginning of the summer (not for all).

So this month I will be posting different poems from people I know on my blog.

Disclaimer: Don't assume what they're writing about is automatically about them.

If Words Spoke ...

"There was a time

when I would have believed them

If they told me that you could not come true

Just love's illusion

But then you found me and

everything changed

And I believe in something again.

My whole heart

Will be yours forever

This is a beautiful start

To a lifelong love letter.

Tell the world that we finally got it all right

I choose you

I will become yours and

you will become mine

I choose you

I chose you

We are not perfect

We'll learn from our mistakes

And as long as it takes

I will prove my love to

You.

I am not scared of the elements

I am underprepared, but

I am willing

And even better

I get to be the other half of you."

- Sara Bareilles
